Most accounting reporting answers "what is the balance of this account". This answers the questions a director asks: what did we earn before the financing and the write-offs, where is the margin going, and what does the trend say about next quarter.
Key Features
The earnings walk - revenue, cost of sales, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, depreciation, interest, net result. Each line traceable to the accounts behind it.
EBITDA without hand-mapping - derived from Odoo's own account types, so a standard chart of accounts needs no setup. Interest, which no account type identifies, is seeded and flagged for review rather than quietly folded into operating expenses.
Revenue trend and forecast - monthly revenue, period-on-period growth, and a projection from the trailing rate, with the rate shown so the reader can disagree with it.
Margin tracking - gross and EBITDA margin by month.
Where the money comes from and goes - revenue by customer, spend by supplier.
An honesty line - how much of the result sits in accounts nobody has confirmed the classification of.
