Odoo MRP is enough to track "a work order was created" but stops short of what a real factory needs: a plan that respects machine capacity, a tablet the operator actually uses, an SPC chart for the quality team, and a serial-trace audit that survives a recall. Lynx MRP extends mrp.bom, mrp.production, mrp.routing.workcenter, and stock.lot with the features that turn Odoo into a Tier-1 manufacturing platform — planning horizon, work-center capacity, alternative routings, kit phantoms, batch genealogy, and a touchscreen shop-floor UI — without per-user licensing.

Multi-level BOM with versioning — mrp.bom adds version control, phantom (kit) and subcontract types, alternative BOM selection by cost/lead-time/quality, and a where_used view that walks bills recursively.
Finite-capacity planning — work centers expose calendars, capacity, and efficiency; mrp.production.action_plan() schedules orders against real availability instead of assuming infinite capacity.
Shop-floor execution (MES) — touchscreen-friendly views on mrp.workorder capture production counts, downtime, and quality checks in real time; barcode/RFID feeds the same records.
Quality management — control points on routing operations, SPC charts, stock.quality.check integration, non-conformance with CAPA workflow, and material certificates per lot.
Full genealogy — batch and serial traceability runs both ways: raw lot → finished serial for recalls, customer complaint → raw material for root-cause analysis.
Manufacturing modes — discrete, process, repetitive, and engineer-to-order all run on the same data model; switch per mrp.bom without forking the install.
Subcontracting — multi-tier subcontractor management with vendor scoring, automatic component shipment, and yield reporting.
Cost rollup — action_compute_price walks the BOM bottom-up to recompute standard cost; structure-cost view shows where each cent comes from.
