Stock Odoo's mail relays everything through one shared SMTP server with "Administrator" as the From line, which lands modern transactional mail straight in spam. Lynx Mail adds per-user mail credentials (Microsoft 365, Gmail, SendGrid, Mailgun, AWS SES, or generic SMTP), routes outgoing messages through the right server based on the active user, enforces provider daily-send limits to prevent surprise account suspensions, and runs nightly health checks that verify SPF / DKIM / DMARC alignment so deliverability stays green.
Key Features
Provider-aware mail servers — ir.mail_server.server_type adds Microsoft 365, Gmail, SendGrid, Mailgun, and AWS SES presets so admins configure once and stop hand-typing host/port/auth combinations.
Per-user SMTP credentials — outgoing mail uses the active user's configured server (via get_user_mail_server), so customers see the rep's address as the From rather than a generic Odoo address.
Daily-limit enforcement — daily_limit and emails_sent_today block sends past the configured cap to prevent account suspensions on tight transactional plans.
SPF / DKIM / DMARC health checks — perform_health_check runs on a schedule, parses DNS records, and writes health_status and health_message so admins see deliverability problems before the first bounce.
SPF generator — generate_spf_record outputs the correct TXT record for the configured server type, ready to paste into DNS.
Multi-server priority — multiple mail servers per company with priority ordering for failover when the primary provider fails.
